Course content

The Multi Utility Operative Skills Bootcamp is fully funded for unemployed local residents in Leicester and Leicestershire.

The course runs for 15 days, and includes shadowing Civils Operative Gangs during the practical experience unit with guided mentoring.

The bootcamp is designed to help you understand multiple aspects of the role, including:

  • Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
  • Excavation in the highway
  • Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials
  • Reinstatement of sub-base and road base in non-bituminous materials
  • Health and safety and safeguarding
