This training course has been designed to provide the necessary skills in design, installation, testing, commissioning, servicing and fault-finding of gas appliance electrical systems.

You’ll need to be a qualified gas engineer, plumber, heating engineer or installer to join the course.

  • Fundamentals of electrical circuits
  • Electrical supplies (DC, Single and Three phase)
  • Electrical circuit protection
  • Electrical dangers
  • Safe working practices – including electrical isolation
  • Electrical test equipment for use in fault finding
  • Testing a range of electrical components (related to your equipment)
  • Using electrical drawings in fault finding
  • Fault finding techniques
  • Typical electrical faults and their rectification
  • Electricity at work regulations 1989
