This three day course is ideal for those who meet the criteria for entry to the Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS), or have held these before but have been expired for over 12 months. If you haven't held Domestic ACS qualifications previously, you'll need to sit initial assessments, which will be subject to a change in fees and dates.

Is this course right for me?

ACS certification is essentially a driving license for gas engineers.

To work legally on gas in the UK, engineers must:

  • Hold valid ACS qualifications
  • Be registered with the Gas Safe Register

This refresher training course covers many different topics, including Gas Regulations & Standards, Combustion, Ventilation and Pipework.

After the training, including a Domestic Gas Manual, you'll complete both practical and theoretical assessments.

Once successfully completed, these qualifications will allow you to join/re-join the Gas Safe Register.

 

Domestic ACS Assessments: Course Content

The course includes CCN1 (Core domestic gas safety) and the following domestic appliance categories:

  • CENWAT – Domestic central heating boilers & water heaters
  • CKR1 – Domestic cooking appliances
  • HTR1 - Gas fires
  • MET1 - Gas meters

By completing these assessments, it will confirm that you can safely:

  • Install appliances
  • Service and maintain them
  • Diagnose faults
  • Work in line with UK gas safety regulations
