It’s also funded by the Government’s Skills for Life guarantee and is eligible for adults aged 19+ who are looking to update or build their skills in heat pump installation.

Is this Skills Bootcamp right for me? 

The Air Source Heat Pumps Skills Bootcamp is suited to those who hold either a valid ACS qualification in CCN1 & CENWAT, or a Level 2 or higher in plumbing or gas.

Heat Pump skills you'll gain

During the skills bootcamp, you’ll not only gain the technical skills needed to become a competent and qualified heat pump installer, but you’ll also benefit from learning key safety and compliance skills.

 

Technical skills

  • Water fittings
  • System design and installation
  • Pipework (including sizing, installation, defects and faults)
  • Testing (covers standing and working pressures, flow rates)
  • Boiler sizing – whole house method
  • Hot water cylinder replacements
  • Design, installation, testing, commissioning, handover, servicing and fault-finding of air source heat pump systems in accordance with the latest NOS/QCF criteria

Transferable skills

  • Using tools, PPE and equipment correctly and safely.
  • Being risk aware and maintaining compliance with appropriate rules and regulations.
  • Professional behaviour, personal wellbeing and the safety of others as a priority.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and regulations applicable to work in the gas and power industries.
  • Be energy aware and deliver advice to customers with a polite, courteous professional service.
